Sit Soft, a collaborative exhibition of new works by Hanna Brody, Germán Enrique, and Keisha Prioleau-Martin is a mesmerizing portrayal of comfort and relaxation displaying the essence of serene repose. The paintings capture the subtleties of body language and facial expressions, conveying a profound sense of blissful surrender to comfort. A feeling of serenity washes over, inviting the audience to momentarily escape the stresses of everyday life and embrace the simple pleasure of sitting soft. This collection of works exudes an aura of tenderness, a display of art that embraces the viewer with its tranquil charm.
Hanna Brody (b. 1994) was raised in Santa Fe, NM, and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She received a BA from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. Brody has participated in exhibitions with Tchochke Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Thierry Goldberg, New York, NY; Field Projects, New York, NY; Studio 9D, New York, NY; Form & Concept, Santa Fe, NM; and The Factory, Long Island, NY, among others.
Germán Enrique (b. 1993) is a painter living and working in Brooklyn, New York. His work has been featured in various group shows in Miami, Los Angeles and New York, he has exhibited at NADA Miami 2022 and released a publication with Dalé Zine titled "I'm Giving You Everything" which was released in 2021."
Keisha Prioleau-Martin(b. 1995) is an artist based in New York City. She earned her BFA at SUNY Purchase in 2017. Keisha's work has been shown across New York, in Los Angeles, and Seattle, including a solo show at Art of Our Century Gallery in New York (head over handlebars) and a lighthearted 2-person show at Ortega y Gasset (Footloose). Keisha is also a co-director at Underdonk in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where her studio resides. Her work has been written about in Hyperallergic, Art Spigel, Artnet, and The Coastal Post.
B Hayden (b. 1993) is a figurative artist born and raised in Houston, Texas, and received her B.F.A. in Drawing and Painting from the University of North Texas in Denton. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. She’s shown across the country and internationally and has been included in a number of group exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, and Thailand. Her most recent solo show was with Paradice Palase in Brooklyn, NY. This is her first time as curator for an exhibition.
