Nine presents its second annual partner exhibition, Bridge Two, featuring works by Yen Yen Chou, Sam Christian, Eamon King, Juyon Lee, Gabriella Gungon Lopez, Magicfeifei, Nate Millstein, Colleen Rae Smiley, and Tamsen Williams. Located in Manhattan’s Chinatown–Two Bridges neighborhood, Nine relaunches itself as a curatorial partnership composed of Bob’s Gallery, Curmudgeon, Mall, and Site Service. Together, the four projects present distinct programming operating under a unified platform, envisioning new curatorial models for NYC art galleriesNine was founded in 2025 as a partnership between Blue Boy (now Hopes, Chattanooga, TN), Curmudgeon, Living Skin, and Site Service, operating out of a basement at 9 Monroe Street. The gallery has since moved across the block to a storefront at 112 Madison Street, and welcomed a new community of partners.

Together, the partners push dialogue around alternative curatorial and artistic practices. Individually and as a collective, they work toward a model that favors flexibility, cooperation, and sustainability — one that pools resources without flattening each project’s distinct identity and curatorial vision.
Bridge Two connects each partner’s creative ethos into one collective installation encompassing painting, photography, performance, fashion, and sculpture. The nine artists on view each combine modular components or distinct materials to form a new whole. The works parallel Nine’s partnership gallery model. As the first collaborative exhibition following the formation of the new partnership among four projects, this presentation affirms the shared belief that artist-run and experimental spaces are essential to artists and curators in the NYC arts ecosystem.
The grand reopening celebration and opening reception for Bridge Two will take place on the evening of Friday, September 25, 2026.
About Nine:
Nine is an art space and curatorial partnership in Chinatown/Two Bridges, New York, shared by Bob’s Gallery, Curmudgeon, Mall, and Site Service, dedicated to advancing critical dialogue around alternative curatorial and artistic practices, foregrounding experimentation as a vital force within contemporary art. By supporting underrepresented perspectives, fostering interdisciplinary exchange, and connecting regional and metropolitan contexts, Nine functions as both a site of artistic experimentation and a hub for public engagement.

Bob’s Gallery

Bob’s is an artist-run gallery that began in an empty room in the apartment of actor and writer Bob Laine. Founded in 2022 by Sammy Bennett, Bob’s emphasizes collaboration and experimental curatorial programming. The gallery provides artists with a space to take creative risks, foster dialogue, and engage with New York’s arts community. Its migratory, collaborative model embraces the gallery as a temporal site for experimentation, exchange, and collective practice.
Curmudgeon
Directed by Jordan Segal with Will Kapaln & Lola Lefrançois
Curmudgeon is an independent curatorial project founded by Jordan Segal. We support materially expressive, conceptually rigorous, and politically charged work that is both challenging and fun. Our goal is to spark dialogue and build community around ideas and aesthetics that traditional galleries too often overlook. As a partner at Nine, Curmudgeon creates space for risk-taking, advances material exploration, and uplifts alternative avenues of creation.
Mall
Directed by Graham Krenz & Emily Drew Miller
Mall is a curatorial project run by Graham Krenz and Emily Drew Miller, joining Nine in Two Bridges, New York City. The project grew out of Krenz's Nuisance Gallery, an experimental space established during his time in the Rutgers MFA program, where he and Miller began working together. Through rotating exhibitions developed jointly by Krenz and Miller, Mall brings an interdisciplinary program with a particular interest in structures, systems, and their collapse.
Site Service

Site and Service are sister variable curatorial initiatives based in New York City dedicated to curatorial experimentation.
Site is the nomadic initiative, centering the evolving relationship between artists, viewers, and space through collaborative programming, exhibitions, and public discourse. Rooted in care, empathy, and cultural partnership, Site activates new and ongoing conversations across creative communities—bringing together diverse contexts to amplify artists' voices and foster collective experiences.
Service extends Site’s nomadic ethos into a permanent home at 112 Madison Street in Chinatown / Two Bridges, NYC. As a partner at Nine, Service offers space for exhibitions, gatherings, and artist-community-oriented public programming. As a hub for Site’s growing network, Service supports artists in process—cultivating dialogue, experimentation, and shared learning in a welcoming, neighborhood-rooted environment.
